“And I will make them and the places round about my hill a blessing; and I will cause the shower to come down in his season; there shall be showers of blessing.”Ezekiel 34: 26
“Out of the same mouth proceedeth blessing and cursing. My brethren, these things ought not so to be.” James 3: 10
When God created Adam and Eve in the beginning, the first thing He did was to bless them, He told them, “Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth.” Genesis 1: 28
This blessing put man on a higher ground. Man becomes the carrier of something abnormal. The Psalmist was inspired to write these words, “What is man, that thou art mindful of him? and the son of man, that thou visitest him?
For thou hast made him a little lower than [yourself], and hast crowned him with glory and honour. Thou madest him to have dominion over the works of thy hands; thou hast put all things under his feet:” Psalm 8: 4-6
When man was created, he was created with everything he need. When God bless the man, He said the words. Blessing therefore, is a word you say to someone. Today we misuse this. You will people say, “bless you”, they say nothing further. We don’t bless people by just saying “bless you”. We must say what we are blessing them with. God told Adam, “I am blessing you with the ability of increase, you will be fruitful, you will multiply, you will replenish, you will subdue the earth, and you will dominate everything I have created”. This is what we call blessing someone. God did not just say “bless you” Adam and kept quite.
Reading Genesis 1: 26, 27, and 28, particularly verse 28. You will notice that the word “blessed” appeared. The word as used in that verse was not God who said it, but Moses. Moses wrote this to narrate what God did after He created man.
To bless means to energize, to give someone the power to move around not feeling intimidated by anything or anyone. When God bless Adam and Eve with those words, he gave them something that will make them achieve the plans He has for them. So, when we bless someone, say what the blessing is. God is not passion, he is not tribalistic, or takes side, He does not rationale, like we humans do.
Today, we quantify God’s blessings or equate it with money. When you have money, if you are rich or wealthy, we conclude, men this guy is blessed by God. And we also conclude, because someone is rich, wealthy, then he moves forward, if not no progress. Money is not the way forward, we all have it, it is called “God’s blessings”. God’s blessing is the way forward, and we all have it. The day you were conceived, God bless you and said, “be fruitful, multiply, replenish, subdue, and dominate”.
There is something good in you, and unless you see it, you will not arise. You will not fulfill your purpose. I want you to know that, man was the only thing in the MIND of God. It was not the nature, the firmaments, the sun, moon, or the air. Look closely at Genesis 1, everything God created, He spoke it, but not so with man. God said, “let us make man” because man was the only thing God had in his mind when He was creating all these things. This shows how unique man is. When you think you amount to nothing, God looks at you and regret making you, because you are not satisfied with who you are.
There is no place in the Bible that God gave man dominion over man. He created Adam and Eve equal, but when the fall came, the woman was made to serve the man. This will be over when you receive Jesus, we become equal once again, even though women will still submit to their Husband, but we are all equal in Christ. We must strive to make people better than us, because these people will never share their testimonies without mentioning us.
Knowing that we are blessed by God, we must therefore be hard working. Most Christians today are lazy. We use circumstances as excuse for being lazy. To be a man or woman, a young man, or a young woman has nothing to do with the Gender classification or our sex organs. We become men or women when we have a sense of responsibility, and to be responsible for our decisions, choices and actions.
Laziness is the greatest excuse of a fool. For the fact that we are blessed, does not mean that we should be lazy. It means we should rise up and do something because we are blessed. And people who never accept themselves, never arise to anything. We must see ourselves as God sees us-blessed children of the Almighty God.
Apart from blessing us to be fruitful, multiply, and replenish, all these are laws of increase. God bless us to subdue and dominate. To subdue means to “put under our control” and to dominate means to “rule over as a king”. Are you putting things under your control? Are you ruling over as a King? Remember, we are not to subdue men, or dominate men. We are to subdue and dominate every other thing not our fellow men. The reason we have so problems, wars and pains in the world today is nations have forgotten this, that we are not to subdue or dominate another person.
To be able to subdue and to dominate, we must be humble. And to be humble means “power under control”. We must control the power God has given us.
The Psalmist said God crowned us with glory; how correct these words are. Man is a carrier of God’s glory. The glory is on the man and not on the clothes he put on. You don’t need good clothes to bring out your worth, all you need is, realize who you are, discover you place in Christ, and you will see that to subdue and dominate is natural, for your are born for this cause, to rule as a kind, and put every other thing under your control; for you are a blessing.
You are your own prophet, whatever you say about yourself that is exactly who you will become. Remember, be fruitful, multiply, replenish the earth, subdue it, and have dominion, just say the WORD!
I WILL BE FRUITFUL
I WILL MULTIPLY
I WILL REPLENISH
I WILL SUBDUE
AND I WILL DOMINATE
